World book day

SO I MISSED THIS?

(okay, so it's the 24th here, but maybe where you are it might still be the 23rd?)

This year, the 23rd of April is... *fanfare* World Book Day!

(At least, in the USA. In England - where it started - it was March 2nd this year. In Australia, it is the 23rd of April - according to Google - but I'd never heard of it before; possibly because we have Book Week in August, possibly because the 25th is Anzac Day and that's a solemn event for Australians.)

There's no particular reason for this post. Except I wanted to wish all you writers a happy World Book Day! Celebrate your creations and the importance of what you're doing!

...

You may continue.

  3. Are you a fellow Aussie? If so, that's awesome! I don't meet many fellow Aussie bloggers, so hello! *waves*
I wish I'd known about World Book Day; I would have gone on a book shopping spree. :D

    1. Yesss! *high fives* I know - most young writer/bloggers seem to be American. *hastily* Which is /fine/; it's just good to meet another Aussie. :)

That sounds like a great way to celebrate World Book Day! (although I'd probably go with a library spree instead, or maybe hit all the op shops. because I'm cheap. xD)

    1. Hm. I suppose it seems to mostly be an English thing (and they have it in March). It isn't a /thing/ in Australia, either, but it should be! Because BOOKS. I will have to try to spread the word. ;)

  5. Oh yes! I'm kind of late to this but my country did celebrate World Book Day! I didn't get a lot of reading done though... I wrote more!

    1. So you worked on creating a book, which is a different aspect, but still very relevant to World Book Day. ;) Thanks for dropping by, Andrea!
